URL/URI Commands

App developers, custom speaker projects, "raspi“-like DIY projects, 3D printing cases for ROCKI, anything goes here - esp. if it's whacky, it probably belongs here : - )

I posted this a while back on Google+ (Rocki Hack & Build) but didn't get any responses or other interested users.

My question is will Rocki be able to respond to commands via URL/URI? Ideally I would like to be able to send Rocki a command from my home automation controller, so it can be integrated into scenes.

Anyone else using a home automation controller that plans on trying to integrate? Vera 3 user here :-)

Good idea EOppie.
I'm hoping that the devs open the API For us to use for these situations.

Home automation is gaining more and more traction so something like this would be very useful!

Indeed a good suggestion. Our devs are prioritizing the app stability and a couple of key features right now. There'll be a scheduled time when we can provide more support to the community and release the API to developers. I can't quite say exactly when that would be, we hope it is soon. Thanks for your patience and understanding. API and support for the community developers is certainly in the planning!! That's why the Hack & Build board here and on G+. In the meantime, keep the ideas, suggestions and requests flowing.

Hi all, thanks for your feedback.
This specific feature has been added to our upcoming firmware update, as we've described in your other topic here: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=69

We're in the last testing fase of the firmware, so stay tuned!

Hello, I would really like to integrate several Rocki's with my smartthings home automation setup but i have run into some issues. Anyone have an idea how i can go about sending the following URL to a Rocki http://translate.google.com/translate_tts?tl=en&q=%22Rocki%20play%20rocks%22

If you right click on the page you can actually download the file as an mp3 but i would love to send it directly to the Rocki from the URL not from the downloaded file. Also the stop music url provided does not work if the rocki if streaming from an airplay device.
