In the video, we are using 2 identical speakers but actually it doesn't matter if they are identical or not for playback. As long as you have your ROCKIs connected to the speakers you want to broadcast to, you will hear the music perfectly in sync (even if those speakers are not from the same brand.)

As for playing music through the speakers of your MacBook and over airplay, yes, this might result in some unsynced music as there will be a bit of delay on the music streamed to your speakers. We are working on it though to keep the delay to a very minimum and the goal is of course not to have any streaming delay!

I would advise you to download our new iOS app if you haven't done so already and see if that solves the problem. You can find the app here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/rocki/i ... ?ls=1&mt=8

Let me know how it goes!

I'm not sure why you mentioned laggy playback; I did not mention that in my post, and this is unrelated to the issues I'm experiencing.

My issues are much simpler - my Rocki simply does not work; as all three behave the same, this is clearly not a defective unit.
Using it for AirPlay results in a few minutes (up to 30) of playback working, then it just stops - and nothing I do short of a reset will get it to play again.

The same happens if I switch AirPlay speakers a few times (via iTunes), or stop-start playback a few times - it just stops working.

I tried this on multiple platforms, multiple iTunes version, different wireless networks etc. - AirPlay support seems to simply be poor.

I have a Raspberry Pi with Shairport running on it, located in the exact same spot - and everything works fine for weeks on end.

Sorry, i must have missed this topic somehow. You have my full attention now.

Could you tell me how you stream your music/audio to ROCKI? Do you use airplay, the Android app, windows software,...

On thing i can come up with for now is making sure the volume of your phone is turned up all the way to the maximum before you start streaming. Also check if the volume of the app is turned to the max. In the ROCKI app, start playing any song and press the volume button to the left of the 'Back' button. This will bring up a volume slider.

I'm sorry to hear you are still having problems with Airplay. This shouldn't be happening!

Have you ever tried playing back audio through Wi-Fi on an Android device for example? Does this also result in a laggy playback?

We will be announcing the launch of the iOS app very soon, so you will be able to also test it through the iOS app. Let's see if this still amounts in a bad playback.

We will make a public announcement about the launch of the iOS app shortly so hang on tight! Thanks for the support!

It plays for a few seconds or minutes, then stops - requiring a restart of Rocki.
Switching audio source (or stopping/starting) often results in the same.

Again, basing your AirPlay support on a very old version of Shairport is not a great recipe for success.

I didn't try, I've just been using Spotify over AirPlay.

I'm trying to visualize your setup. So you would have your PA system in one room (Microphone, amps, speakers,...) and want to broadcast that signal not only in that room but also in another room in another building.

I don't think it's going to be easy to get the job done but what comes into mind now is, if possible, hook up the PA system to a PC so the PC can receive the audio and then retransmit that audio using Airfoil or Tuneblade to ROCKI.

Also, are those two buildings sharing the same Wi-Fi network?

Thanks for the feedback. I will definitely pass this on to our developers so they can come up with a fix!

@hanfaar: It's very unfortunate you are having this problem. We'll try to fix this asap! Thanks for the support and stay tuned, i'll keep you guys informed about this issue! On a side note, I use ROCKI in the same way as you, to stream Spotify from my PC to my speakers. I do use Airfoil though but that shouldn't make any difference. Untill now, the playback from ROCKI has been very stable, with some very minor stuttering once in a while but nothing like you described.

@ jd_: Thanks for letting us know. We'll definitely look into it. Does the stuttering also occur when you playback music from your phone or only from your PC?

This morning i was playing for a few hours without any noticeable lagg/stutter but later it kicked in and ruined the music experience...

The stutter is happening randomly with both my two Rockis and rebooting seems to fix it for a few tracks/minutes as other people have stated.

I am streaming music from my PC through the TuneBlade software. The music comes from a dekstop spotify application on my pc. My Wifi connection is strong at both sites and internet connection is approx 30/50 Mbit through the wireless connection.

I really hope that a firmware update can fix the issue as it is extremely frustrating.

This is really a pitty, because when it works well I LOVE the product!

Rebooting seems to solve the problem, but it gets annoying after a while.
