We're planning to release the NAS feature together with the next app update but i can't give you an ETA just now. From now on, we'll be releasing an info post every Wednesday so keep an eye on those. You'll be able to find the update in the 'ROCKI News' thread and on Kickstarter.

If you right click on the page you can actually download the file as an mp3 but i would love to send it directly to the Rocki from the URL not from the downloaded file. Also the stop music url provided does not work if the rocki if streaming from an airplay device.

Thanks for your ideas. An auto on feature sounds interesting! Something for the Rocki 2, who knows ;)

I'm converting an old HMV radiogram into a soundbar for my TV/Audio streamer.

I've got a topping amp wired into the speakers with a the TV plugged in one input and the rocki on the other.

I have a sonos play:3 in the study and was rather assuming that NAS playback would be an out of the box experience.

Is this planned anytime soon, does anyone have any workarounds or should I put this up on ebay and find something else to do the job? I really want to avoid bluetooth, I thought Rocki had it; close, but no cigar

I didn't realise the Rocki would include a built in battery, pretty neat it you plan to use it portably.

I would rather not have a battery and run straight of the USB 5v, and also i would prefer an auto on option.
This way I could connect it to my amp and forget about it, much like a ChromeCast I guess.
You could even design it in a similar was so it plugs into a usb port directly and they only requires a sinlge 3.5mm out cable.

Rocki dongle even has a kinda cute name - what do you think? :) :geek:

in case you can cross-compile OpenHome for the ARM9 linux-platform it would be no problem.
As far as I have seen it, OpenHome would have to support OSS (/dev/dsp) and can be cross-compiled to ARM9-gnueabi.
The rest (uploading, installing, ..) won't be a big problem.
