With Airfoil app you can turn any pc/android/ios into an airplay receiver.

Would be nice to have this for Rocki as s well indeed. Multiroom sync to Rocki and pc (ie streaming from iPad to Rocki and pc)

We're working on HTML 5 based software so you can use the ROCKI software with your PC. But I'm afraid I'm not completely understanding your idea. Could you elaborate a bit more.

You've mentioned that the wifi signal doesn't reach the PC. In that case, it will also be difficult to broadcast your music as ROCKI streams over an existing Wi-Fi network (or using it's own Wi-Fi hotspot)

It could be a crazy idea but here it goes:

I was thinking about buying a few rocki for my entire house... But one of the places where I wanted to put a rocki is in a computer so I can listen to rocki through its speakers. The computer is the only place where the wifi doesn't get signal.

So I thought... why don't you develop a software for PC that works as a rocki so I can get what I want and save some money?

I mean as a Rocki and Not DLNA nor Airplay (there is software for that)... Because I want some rocki to do multiroom playing.

It would be the perfect complement for myrocki but It would have a lot of consequences that you should study deeply.

As a matter of fact, I was quite disappointed to find out I can only stream local music and (soon) spotify. It's just of limited use now.

Could be in the app, don't have it yet (iOS) and cannot find it on the control panel.

Anyone?

Now that I have one in my hot little hands, I cant get it to work, but firmly believe the concept of Rocki is spot on, and that I am experiencing a small hurdle that will be overcome shortly.

I feel the Rocki needs to have a little more manual usability via a switch/toggle or button (possibly hidden on the under side) to be able to manually switch between Wifi mode and Hotspot mode, this would help with day to day usability and also in setting the Rocki up for the first time.

Another possible suggestion (which I suspect will be tricky to implement), the ability to plug the Rocki unit into a PC via the USB port, that the PC could see/recognize the Rocki, and that a window/popup would open on the PC to allow access to setting the Rocki up in the first instance, ie to allow for entering the Wifi network details.

Thanks, and keep up the good work Rocki

first of all, currently I am listening to my favorite music via 2 rockis, one connected to my to my hifi system on the left and one to my bluetooth box on the right. Why? Because I can :-)

Still I have to agree, total freedom would be something like bluetooth. I don't want to place ads for business competition (especially because i love the fresh rocky concept of rocki), but there is one doing something similar.

So what I'd recommend: Build a rocki (airplay) -sender. Maybe this could include bluetooth, but isn't essential, since there are plenty of bluetooth dongles on the market.

However, in my opinion, the best solution for this issue would be a rocki sender, this would meet all above mentioned requirements.

Looking forward to HTML5 and iOS Apps (or the sender :-)

Regards
Mike

For help to implement this you could check the open rockbox firmware for mp3 players. Gapless with mp3 is no problem there.
