Glad to see you are interested! We currently don't have an open API for the Windows app as we are developing an HTML5 app which we will then port to different platforms such as Windows Phone, Tizen, BB10, FireOS and more. I've sent you a PM with some info in the meantime. ROCKI ON!

Other devs, feel free to drop a message if you are interested. I can note you down for when the times comes for the beta testing or some additional development.

I'm also a Windows Phone developer interested in building Rocki app for WP platform. If you have public api for your html 5 app I will be also interested.

Any update on the Windows Phone app? Last I saw you guys were looking at April availability. Seeing as how it's now July I am a little concerned. I understand a dev cycle hardly ever goes according to plan so I am mostly just trying to make sure this app didn't fall through the cracks and get forgotten about and that it's still making progress

Hey @NicoVermeir!

We're currently working to get the HTML 5 app ready. After that's done, we will customize the HTML 5 app for each platform separately, including Windows Phone.

I haven't got much experience with Windows Phone, so i can't recommend you any apps in the meantime but someone here on the forums might.

As some of you may know, we have been developing the ROCKI HTML 5 app for a while. The proof on concept has shown to be successful and we have moved onto UI implementation.

Why an HTML 5 app you ask? Well, once the HTML5 based app is completed, we will start customizing the HTML 5 app for each of the following phone platforms : Windows Phone, Firefox OS, Ubuntu, Tizen (Samsung), Sailfish OS and Fire OS (Amazon Phone). This will allow you to easily use the ROCKI app on even more platforms than ever before.

The beta version of the HTML 5 app for Google Chrome is now ready and can be found here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/ROCKI

Install the app on Google Chrome, fire up your ROCKI in Wi-Fi mode (make sure it connects to the same Wi-Fi network as your PC) and your ROCKI device should show up in the list under Locale on the app. Select your ROCKY in the app, add folders which contain music through the settings tab and enjoy!

As the ROCKI HTML 5 app is currently in beta testing, we would highly appreciate your feedback. Doesn't the app work for you? Is there a feature you really would like to see implemented? Let us know in the comments below!

I'm wondering if you (or anyone) have tested your app on BB10? I know it's not in the app store, but it could be loaded through an app like SNAP Google Play Store for BlackBerry 10.

I too raise my hand. I work at Microsoft and it's a bit hard to brag to my colleagues about a new toy if I can't get to work with my devices

Just received my rocki 3 pack today. 1 doesn't allow me to connect to it at all. the 2nd allows me to connect but I can't get anything to play on it. Like the other posts mention, the instructions aren't that clear. The 3rd I am yet to open.

On my Nokia Lumia 920 with WP8.1 I can't connect through the apps or Nokia Play either. My work wifi requires a username and password which the web access doesn't allow me to enter, so will try again at home on the wifi there.

Happy to beta test any early WP apps in development too.

I realize this is a bit late, but I've set up my Rocki(es) to connect to my WiFi as outlined, and downloaded the aforementioned free UPnP apps, but without any success. Neither of my Rocki devices (I got the three pack, but gifted one) show up as a source or a player. However, they do show up when I use the Nokia "Play to" app. Selecting them as something to "stream to" yields an error message that says something to the effect of "It didn't work, try again later."

By all means, feel free to connect with me to test this or the Windows app further. I'm on a Nokia Lumia Icon running the developer preview of WP 8.1. I'm a UI/UX Designer with Visual Studio 2013, and the Windows Phone 8.1 SDK installed, so I'm more than happy to side-load an alpha.
